Beyond the Basics - put those gourds to work

Gourds are cute and colorful and seasonal and make wonderful decorations for centerpieces or mantels. But they are also working fruits (yes, they're actually fruits, just like the tomato). You can hollow them out and use them as vases or as wonderful little serving bowls.

For best results, keep refrigerated until you need them.
