Small bookcases or even shoe organizers can function as a great storage unit in addition to acting as a side table. Keep your books next to your comfy reading chair, or have a dedicated spot for that remote control that keeps disappearing. You can even add some cute baskets as a catch-all or to keep small toys contained. Of course you can always house some great knick-knacks that add beauty to your room.
