Am I the only mom who brings to school home-made cupcakes, but can't figure out how to get them there unscathed? My rectangular cake saver is a good alternative, but the cupcakes end up sticking together and the frosting gets smudged.
Here's a simple trick. Use a gift box. Measure the bottom of a cupcake and cut X marks as wide as the diameter of the cupcake into the top of the box. Fold each of the triangular pieces back to create a square hole.
*Before making any cuts, you may want to sit the cupcakes on top of the box to see how many will fit across.
